SFU Burnaby

Last month a 2 day bootcamp on quantum computing took place at SFU Burnaby. The event was geared towards girls age 13-19, and included the following topics:
Intro to Quantum Computing – Mohammad Reza Mostaan (Nanoacademic Technologies Inc)
Getting started with Quantum Programming – Obinna Uzoh (SFU)
Quantum Architecture – Hannah Herdin (SFU)
Quantum Programming using Qiskit – Obinna Uzoh (SFU)
Quantum Machine Learning – Elham Torabian (UBC)
Qiskit Tutorial Session – Obinna Uzoh (SFU)
Panel Discussion – Daniel Higginbottom (SFU & Photonic Inc), Elham Torabian (UBC), Mohammad Reza Mostaan (Nanoacademic Technologies Inc), and Shania Smagh (SFU)
The weekend also included time for networking. Fifteen attendees from the lower mainland took part in the various workshops and presentations, which was funded by the SFU Faculty of Science and Quantum BC.
